"Courage is being scared to death and saddling up anyway" - John Wayne said it and Ashley Alderson lived it.

In 2007, Ashley, then Andrews, became the first lady of professional rodeo as Miss Rodeo America 2007.  On the road for 320 days out of 2007, Ashley traveled as an ambassador not only for the sport of rodeo, but for her home state of North Dakota and for the life lived in rural America.  While Ashley's story graced newspapers and magazines nationwide, it was her real story which began ahd year prior as Ashley was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, cancer of the lymph nodes.  It was her positive attitude, free spirit and determination that helped her manage six months of chemotherapy while reigning as Miss Rodeo North Dakota that gave her the grit to become Miss Rodeo America.  Ashley's presentation inspires hope, determination and appreciation for life in the comfort of North Dakota.  You will leave with a whole new outlook on how a sense of humor can get you through life's many challenges.

Display, Presentation and Firing Demonstration of a Gatling Fun.  Display, an exact replica fully functional full-scale Model 1874 10-barrel .45-70 calibor Gatling gun on a tripod is displayed with living history interpretation.  Presentation: An informational presentation in "first person" will be made on the type, caliber, weight, size, rate of fire, range, accuracy, ammunition, carriage, tripod, oscillator, cartridge feeding system, and mechanical operation of the Gatling Fun; why the U.S. Army adopted the gun; how the gun was used in Civil War and Indian War battles; and how the gun was operated by soldiers.  Firing Demonstrations: A firing demonstration of the Gatling Fun will be made with live blank cartridges.  The gun can fire up to 60 rounds per minute.  As a soldier turns the crank on the gun, the gun's cluster of ten barrels rotates and cartridges will be automatically cycled through the unique feeding, firing, and ejecting sequence.  As the gun is fired, the activity of the event comes alive with excitement.  People will hear the abrupt, rapid, loud report of gunfire, see smoke and fumes burst out of barrels, and smell burnt gunpowder.  The people will be entertained and receive a rare educational experience of a vivid close-up, personalized firing demonstration of the gun's devastating firepower that makes a lasting impression of their event.

My program is composed of three different, get powerful parts, the first of which is my introduction. I usually prefer to greet the auience in an enthusiastic and high-energy manner. The crowd will usually become talkative as I encourage them to greet those people around them. The next portion of my performance is reserved for speaking. Usually organizations will request that I speak on a certain topic, but periodically I will be asked to use my own discretion. The topics that I choose from range from those that are educational to those that are focused on motivation. Regardless of the topic, the message is clear, clean, and creative. The last portion of my performance is powerful! I use a mix of music to create a mood that inspires me as I draw. The audience watches as a beautiful picture unfolds. They are changed as they realize the meaning that it has for them individually.

An informative and introspective look into American Fiddle Music as it reflects in the looking glass of our history. The plaintive voice of the fiddle has been a part of American history since the first settlers arrived from Europe, and the popular tunes of each age give our listeners an innovative insight into the heart of those bygone days. John Lardinois is one of best fiddlers in the country, placing in the top ten of the National Oldtime Fiddlers Contest every year since 1998. His recordings have been featured in the Ken Burns documentary "Mark Twain" and have aired on National Public Radio. A finalist for the "Indie" award for best folk recording in 1997.

Teresa Lewis is a nationally recognized motivational speaker, author, and radio personality whose work impacts hundreds of thousands of people each month. Her engaging and dynamic keynote speeches leave you laughing, dreaming and energized to live your life by design. She is a morning show co-host on Life 97.9. Her company, Get Inspired, helps individuals and organizations get better results by picturing new possibilities, elevating leaders to new heights and employing the art of accountability. She provides inspiration to audiences of all sizes. Teresa is also a certified speaker with The 7 Mindsets -- the mindsets that are proven to lead to happiness and success. Prior to launching her own business in 2007, she worked in the corporate world for 20 years, primarily in human resources. Teresa's mission is to make a positive and profound impact on the world and she inspires her audiences to do the same.

KEYNOTE OVERVIEWS:

Life by Design

In a world full of complexity, competing demands and occasional chaos, it can be tempting to go through the motions of life and work in order to just get through it. Teresa uses the metaphor of a shade lowering on our lives as we experience unfulfilled dreams, disappointments and failure. Eventually we have a limited view of what’s possible.

This session helps “raise the shade” to picture new possibilities and reignite the sparks of purpose and passion. This session is based on Teresa’s book, Life by Design. You’ll relate to her stories and her journey and benefit from the lessons she’s learned along the way. After this session, you’ll be inspired to live and work more intentionally knowing you can make a positive impact every day.

The 7 Mindsets for Success

If everyone wants to be happy and successful, why do so many people settle and never realize their full potential? A multi-year, multi-million dollar study gives us the answer; researchers found there are 7 mindsets that contribute to happiness and success. The surprising reality is that most people think in direct opposition to these mindsets. These mindsets can positively impact job satisfaction, engagement, productivity and even workplace safety. Embracing these mindsets can have a dramatic impact in your professional and personal life. This highly engaging and inspiring session is based on The 7 Mindsets to Live Your Ultimate Life by Scott Shickler and Jeff Waller.

Leadership from Within; Re-igniting the Passion

We all have numerous leadership roles; at work, at home, in our communities and in service organizations. Add the demands of a world with increasing complexity and uncertainty and it’s easy to become overwhelmed. With so many priorities competing for our time, how can we be inspired to lead and be effective role models in all areas of life? Learn how in this interactive presentation and leave refreshed and ready to tackle challenges!

TESTIMONIALS

“I recommend Teresa to any organization looking to improve their team and their long-term results.” Richard Byers, Food Services of America, 701.282.8200

“Thank you so much for being part of ‘on the minds of mom LIVE!’ One of our goals was for our attendees to leave inspired, motivated to do something new or change something in their life. You hit that goal out of the ball park! THANK YOU!” Sheri Stockmoe, on the minds of moms. 701.306.1624

“Teresa was able to show us how to apply the 7 Mindsets into our everyday life whether it be at home, work or our life in general in a real and fun way. Our attendees rated it as one of the best sessions they had attended. Can't wait to have others hear her message.” Jan Johnson, Conference Planner for Applied Systems Software Users, 701.238.5862

"My organization has partnered with Teresa since 2013. We are a coaching and presentation company and are very selective in our process of identifying partners, especially those we ask to do keynote presentations and run our various workshops and camps. Teresa is clearly among the best we have. In the programs she has delivered for us, the feedback has been amazing. Her programs are insightful and her material is highly relevant. Her presentation style is interactive, engaging, and thorough. She comes across extremely approachable, knowledgeable, and relaxed. She has been an invaluable partner to us in effectively spreading our message and someone with whom we hope to partner for many years. I strongly recommend any organization seeking a powerful message with inspiring results to consider Teresa. She will impact your organization and she is a top notch person to do business with." Jeff Waller, President, 7 Mindsets, 678.735.4225

“A sincere and heartfelt thank you for giving your expertise to the YWCA Women Empowering Women Community Outreach Program. The tools and wisdom you provide will enrich our lives and your passion is an inspiration!” Connie Grondahl, YWCA Cass Clay

Expect hysterically funny comedy and mesmerizing Spanish guitar playing in Gordy's stand-up musical comedy show.  From Rogaine to Road Kill, from the pitfalls of parenting to the process of aging gracefully (or not), from the birth of a baby to the demise of the 8-track tape, Gordy's family friendly comedy is guaranteed to make you laugh, make you cry . . . make you laugh so hard you cry.

Called the "Victor Borge of the Guitar," Gordy's unique performance style brings laughter to music and music to laughter.  Gordy mesmerizes audiences as he plays Bach and Bluegrass in the same breath, Mozart on "12 cups of good, strong cowboy coffee," and a foot-stomping turn of "Classical Gas".

A veteran entertainer, extraordinary guitarist, comedy writer and published songwriter, Gordy has performed his stand-up musical comedy show as The Original Fabulous ONE GUY for hundreds of corporations, associations, and other organizations, large and small.  Gordy also does a full-length concert, performed throughout the United States, and a historical show: "Seth Bullock: The Spirit of the West".  He has appeared on ABC's Good Morning America, where he sang "Days of '76", an original song from his "Seth Bullock" show, and opened for Kenny Chesney, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, The Beach Boys and many more.

Gordy studied music and classical guitar at Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY: the Royal College of Music in London; and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.  He has produced several CDs which can be purchased through his website.

"Impress others with your North Dakota knowledge by learning more through our Knew View program. Knew View is an image enhancement program that helps educate North Dakotans on interesting facts about our state. Knew View gives people a new view on things they may already know, but with a twist of humor and interaction. Sometimes just changing your view changes your whole perspective. Knew View participants are sent back into their daily lives armed with innovative, positive news about North Dakota to share with their customers, family and friends. Knew View began in 2005 as part of a legislative initiative for state employees designed to bridge the gap between our positive self perception of North Dakota and the national pereption of North Dakota. The program has expanded to include private sector business and secondary education."

The Greater North Dakota Association launched the New Economy Initiative in the fall of 2000. Since that time, thousands of North Dakotans from all walks of life have participated in one or more of the meetings, open forums, and presentations on the social, philosophical, and cultural dynamics of competing in the 21st Century's global economy. Industry Clusters and Action Teams, made up primarily of private citizens, business and non-profit organizations, provide the impetus to move North Dakota into the world marketplace. Recent economic and social research indicates that communities having quality of place rank high on their ability to attract and keep new businesses, people, and dollars. The NEI's Creative Communities Action Team will define and identify those places in North Dakota having quality of place and will assist other communities in determining what's missing in theirs.

This session will give you the opportunity to relax and share the passion of your instructor. It is designed for people who have never touched a brush before or have forgotten the joy you felt as a child when you painted. Topics: Important subjects which can be tailored to an audience include basic rules of life, how to treat people, introductions, communication or correspondence skills, interviews, entertaining/evnt planning, men and women in the workplace and in the home, business manners, travel etiquette, tipping, telephone manners, toasts, correct forms of address, international business etiquette, dressing for success, and the art of living well.
